Rapid Rappel, based in Stjørdal near Trondheim, Norway, designs, develops, and produces the world’s leading compact egress system for unexpected vertical challenges in the field. Unlike full-size rope equipment, which is often left behind due to weight and bulk, Rapid Rappel is specifically engineered for unplanned descents, emergency evacuations, and sudden vertical access needs, giving operators a critical tactical advantage.
Since 2016, the startup company has refined the rappel system through extensive prototyping and multiple design iterations. Prototal Norway has collaborated closely with Rapid Rappel to produce five components using industrial 3D printing at our facility in Levanger.
The reasoning for choosing Industrial 3D Printing was not for complex geometries, but for the ability to scale production quickly, whilst still minimising investments and being able to make design iterations and tailoring the product to specific sectors.
After 1.5 years on the market, Rapid Rappel continues to deliver consistent quality and innovation. The system is already established in Europe and is gaining traction in the American market, helping Rapid Rappel as a global leader in tactical rappel equipment.
